The Reading Railroad Heritage Museum welcomes school groups of any age!  Dale Woodland photo.The opening of the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum presents a new and dynamic opportunity for an educational experience about a vital facet of American industrial history that is rapidly fading from the scene. From learning about railroads in general, to discovering the specific ways in which the Reading Railroad influenced and shaped the communities through which it ran, a visit to the Museum is sure to be a learning experience for people of all ages. Whether you're an educator, a scout leader or coordinator of a civic group, we hope you'll take the opportunity to "Take a Ride on the Reading" and plan for an educational outing at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum!

All programs meet a variety of PA state standards.
Educational tours qualify for a group rate of $3.00 per person.

"Museum in a Box"
Artifacts to enhance your lessons on railroading and transportation.
Includes the Museum DVD, "The Reading Shaped Communities," and a class set of "The History of the Reading Railroad" articles.
Museum fee of $30.00 applies to borrow for two weeks.

 

Classroom Visit by a Museum Educator
Our museum educators will bring the museum to you!
Our program can be tailored to your specific needs.
Includes use of the "Museum in a Box" materials and "Please Touch" materials from the museum educational tour.
1-2 hour visit.
